We're a family of four enjoying living the outdoor life of East Lothian. We love to run, cycle, swim in the sea and eat good food. We moved into our house in 2021 and we are slowly working to make it more sustainable.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
A large 5 bedroom 'Steading' in the village of East Linton. Located in stunning countryside on the John Muir Way and within 15 minutes of numerous golden beaches. The perfect location for a family holiday or friends reunion. The house has a modern and sunny kitchen / dining room with a large family table and sliding doors opening out onto the south facing courtyard garden. The living room benefits from a wood burning stove to keep cosy on colder Scottish evenings. There are 2 ensuite double bedrooms (king size), 2 additional double bedrooms, and 1 single bedroom. A cot can be set up as required.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
East Linton is a small country town between Haddington and Dunbar in East Lothian, made up of strong community of families young and old. It has an incredible selection of amenities and attractions including Bostock Bakery, the Mart (shop and post office, coffee roaster, cafe, the Yoga Den, sauna, Take Away food), The Night Owl bookshop, Markle Fisheries, two pubs (the Crown and Kitchen and the Linton Steakhouse), Preston Mill, Smeaton garden centre. It is also within easy access of North Berwick, Dunbar, Haddington and the surrounding beaches; offering everything you need for a wonderful holiday.

From our house it is less than 15 minutes drive to a range of attractions including: Seacliff beach (Accessed via a private road this is a beautiful beach with some of the finest views of the Bass Rock – a little known gem); Foxlake (The only rope access course over water), East Links Farm (Fantastic fun for a family day out); National Museum of Flight (The National Museum of Flight is Scotland’s national aviation museum, at East Fortune Airfield); Glenkinchie distillery (Take a tour of our local whisky distillery and get the chance to try a wee dram); Tantallon Castle (Historic Environment Scotland site and described as one of the most awe-inspiring castles in Scotland); Whitekirk Hill Spa and restaurants (Indulge yourself); Drift (A clifftop cafe with spectacular views); The Lobster Shack (The Harbour, North Berwick – sample freshly caught lobster in this picturesque harbour); The Scottish Seabird Centre; Dunbar swimming pool (family leisure pool with slides and wave machine).

It is important to us to find the house neat and tidy when we get back. We have parking for 2 cars at the front of the house. Please do not park elsewhere in the vicinity as this could block neighbours and farmer access.
